| Our Mission... |
| To advance the profession of House and Property Inspection, and the professional recognition and career development of Certified House and Property Inspectors in a manner that serves and protects the public interest. |
| |
| Peace of Mind... it's worth it! |
| The purchase of residential or commercial property represents a significant investment which should involve a thorough investigation and assessment. This could also apply if you already own the building. |
| A quality inspection will give the purchaser or building owner detailed information about the building and the systems within it... information that may influence the buying decision, identify safety issues or maintenance you should be considering to protect your investment. |
| Whether you're buying or currently own the building, a professional inspection is an investment that may pay huge dividends, while giving you peace of mind. |
| Your Inspectors of Choice... |
| It is important to make the right decision when engaging an inspector... a Certified Property Inspector (CPI) or Certified House Inspector (CHI) are properly qualified with the education, training and experience to carry out professional house and property inspections. |
BCIPI inspectors certified by ASTTBC are the only inspectors in British Columbia required to pass a rigorous supervised mentor training program before receiving authority to offer inspections services for a fee to the public at large.
Other organizations currently do not have a program in place that requires new inspectors to complete supervised inspections PRIOR to performing inspections for the public. While this may have been acceptable in the past, BCIPI does not believe that it is in the public interest to allow such practices to remain in place without public awareness. We do acknowledge there are comprehensive examinations required by other organizations; however, it is our belief that home inspection is a skill that requires practical as well as theoretical training. |
